Commander's Report

Jon Clarke Reporting

Today was the best weather we have seen this rotation.  The biologists worked in the lab and Sarah worked on the lab.  Carol, Jhony, David and Jon first located the next drilling location, then went to Lith Canyon and family Crest to do some geological scouting and infill work.  The large basalt boulders at family crest roused considerable discussion!

In the afternoon the engineers worked on core sampling methodologies and then worked on the ATVs (which we have not used this crew except for training) so that they could be relied upon to support the drilling (which is 3 km up Cow Dung Road).  Carol worked on sample processing and documentation, I wrote up site descriptions and cooked a green beef curry for dinner.

Tonight we are finishing desert and are being entertained by David's flying stories in the skies of Tasmania.
